This whole book was honestly *chef’s kiss*。 When JLA first introduced the FBAA series, I knew that I was going to fall in love with her writing again。 It happened with every new book she has released。 The War of Two Queens was just impeccable to me。 It ties in so much of the story line and I love how the Flesh and Fire series is also intertwined with it。 Everyone that is questioning a re-read, should absolutely read A Shadow In The Ember。 We get to read so much more into the stories of Pop-tart This whole book was honestly *chef’s kiss*。 When JLA first introduced the FBAA series, I knew that I was going to fall in love with her writing again。 It happened with every new book she has released。 The War of Two Queens was just impeccable to me。 It ties in so much of the story line and I love how the Flesh and Fire series is also intertwined with it。 Everyone that is questioning a re-read, should absolutely read A Shadow In The Ember。 We get to read so much more into the stories of Pop-tart and Casserole。 Have a box of tissues ready because I definitely sobbed。 I took so many breaks in between to just cry。 Theories will be made even more as we continue on through Pops and Cas’s story and I just… I absolutely just adore them even more after I got to read this。 Get ready because I know you will be blown away from Jen’s writing, yet again。 。。。more

I stayed up way too late two nights in a row to finish this book。 I honestly don't even know how to put into words how much I loved it。Honestly, there's not too much I can say without spoiling it。 You'll get I stayed up way too late two nights in a row to finish this book。 I honestly don't even know how to put into words how much I loved it。Honestly, there's not too much I can say without spoiling it。 You'll get 。。。more

This book was everything I’ve been waiting for。 So many twists and turns and heartache and excitement。 Loved the dual perspectives。 There is so much intrigue and you never know who to trust。 Lots of surprises。 My favorite of the series so far。

Review:This will be a spoiler free review, there will be no information on the joining nor confirmation on whether or not it will happen Also, please for the love of god read A shadow in the embers (flesh and fire #1) before this one。 Theres a reason the series got published in a certain order and knowing certain information will help。 I loved this book! If you love a plot driven fantasy story with romance then you'll probably love this book。 The others are more character driven romance fantasy, and while I do prefer that, i loved this one too。Watching Poppy stand on her own two feet, grow and interact with everyone was a great thing to watch。 I must admit, while I did like Kieran in the other books ive really fallen for him in this one。 He is such a loyal friend and just a great guy。 There where some other characters introduced in this book, some you'll recognize from A shadow in the embers, and I loved that。 He is such a great character。 Some of the plot twist I saw coming, or expected but some I definitely did not。 I cannot wait for the next books。 It will be epicWhile I did love it, certain things got a bit repetitive for me。 It didn't help that I've been in a reading slump, evidently because it never takes me this long to read a jla book。 I loved Poppys growth and development and loved the snarky side of Casteel, his strength and love and even his horniness hahaha, I mean come on the man has some serious sex appeal but everything about him became a bit too much about Poppy。 He almost felt more like a second character, there to support poppy (which isnt a bad thing) than also a main character。 I still very much love him, don't get me wrong。 There just are some thing I hope will change  a little bit, maybe not change but grow, in the next book。 I would have loved to see him act more like they are equals, not in power as poppy is stronger (which i love) but as partners and rulers。 Not that he doesn't see her as his equal but I don't know it felt like he forgot he is a king and that he is his own person too。 Don't get me wrong I love how devoted he is to Poppy, and she to him。 Anyways hopefully they will continue to grow as individuals and as a strong couple。 What is this book about:This books takes off right where the crown of gilded bones ended。 Its in dual pov so we see whats going on with poppy and cas, and what they are thinking in certain situations。 Can't really say more without spoiling things。 What did I like/love:I love how every thing came together。 How things that where laid down in the first book changed or now made sense。 The smallest things could come back。We learn more and more about how things came to be as they are and I can't wait to see how they turn out。 What did I dislike/hate:Nothing I hated Rating:5 stars 。。。more

4。5 stars! After the end of TCOGB, this became on of my most anticipated books of 2022。 After the cliffhanger of the last book, I couldn't wait to see what happens with Poppy and Cas's story。 The War of Two Queens was an epic continuation of The Blood and Ash Series! The pages are filled with love, friendship, war, death and so much more, this book was impossible to put down。 I devoured the book so quickly。 The series continued to unfold in a way that was not only intricate but has me so invested 4。5 stars! After the end of TCOGB, this became on of my most anticipated books of 2022。 After the cliffhanger of the last book, I couldn't wait to see what happens with Poppy and Cas's story。 The War of Two Queens was an epic continuation of The Blood and Ash Series! The pages are filled with love, friendship, war, death and so much more, this book was impossible to put down。 I devoured the book so quickly。 The series continued to unfold in a way that was not only intricate but has me so invested and wowed at how Jen can tie everything together in a way that makes my head explode! And each character own my heart in their own special ways。 With twists, turns and epic reveals you will be glues to this book from start to finish! From the start you are consumed with happiness and worry; I was so excited to read Cas's POV and experience his thoughts and feelings but with the end of the last book you know he is not in a good spot。 It hurt to see him go through something so horrible again and I wanted to become stabby for him。 I was so anxious reading his chapters and was just waiting for Poppy's and Cas's reunion。 The things he would do for love, for Poppy and his friends was just everything。 You could feel emotions right of the page, bur even going though the worst he would preserve and have hope and determination。 Poppy was dealing with a lot throughout the book; her husband sacrificing himself, the revelations about her family and bloodline, and dealing with her powers but she tried to remained strong and determined, I loved her for it。 you could feel her pain at moments, the trials she had to go through and the horrible heart wrenching lessons she learned kept giving me all the emotions。 During the book Poppy's heart wasn't whole。 For the first time in a while she was separated from Cas and she ached for Cas。 For knowing the horror that he must be going through。 I'm so glad she has Kieran by her side, and how he helped her through everything。 Their relationship really grew in this book and he had her back without any hesitation。 Even through the sadness of some parts, there was also so many moments that made me laugh and smile。 I loved the side characters so much, especially Reaver, Delano, Netta。 We got a better look into what type of people they are and I loved! I would not be okay with anything happening to any of them。 They added the lightness that was needed in the moments of darkness。 I loved having Reaver and the Drakens, they added to the story。 I loved the different places we went too, and seeing Poppy become the queen that we wanted to see her as。 I loved her growth in this book, and how she became even more of a badass。 And even though it was sad Cas wasn't there I liked that she was able to do it on her own and find herself on her own。 The plot was filled with more twists and turns that were shocking and just made everything click into place。 There was some great badass moments with Poppy and her army。 The title of the book really lived up to the story, and the last few chapters caused me to have my heart in my throat with shock, happiness and my mind blown。 I was on the edge of my seat with this book。 You will meet new characters, learn new information, and have your mind blown again and again。 and once you finish I will guarantee you will be sitting there for at least ten minutes trying to process everything and also wish you had the next book immediately。 And while this story is within the From Blood and Ash Series, the ties into A Shadow in the Ember and it's story。 I defiantly feel like there will be some sort of crossover with the books with how the stories are intwining。 It is a must read before you dive into this book, and will help understand plot points again。Jen continues to wow me with each book in this series and the rest of the series is defiantly going to be epic! A lot of questions were answered, there was great scenes and epic battles and I couldn't be happier! Jen's books always take you on a wild ride and you will not be disappointed with this book! 。。。more

Holly Molly, the Blood and Ash series gets better and better and wow, this one is a doozie。 So much happens and we learn along with Poppy some very shocking details。 There are absolutely NO spoliers here in this review。 The War of Two Queens picks up where Poppy is left without Casteel who is in the hands of the Queen of Blood and Ash who happens to be Poppy's "loving Mother", but is actually Enemy number one, who has one goal and nothing is going to get in her way, not even her own daughter。 Po Holly Molly, the Blood and Ash series gets better and better and wow, this one is a doozie。 So much happens and we learn along with Poppy some very shocking details。 There are absolutely NO spoliers here in this review。 The War of Two Queens picks up where Poppy is left without Casteel who is in the hands of the Queen of Blood and Ash who happens to be Poppy's "loving Mother", but is actually Enemy number one, who has one goal and nothing is going to get in her way, not even her own daughter。 Poppy, who is the Queen of Atlantia and has the blood of Gods running through her veins, has one goal of her own, to rescue her husband and destroy the creators of the Vampry's, Revenants and Zombies War is only the beginning。 Ancient primal powers have stirred, revealing the horror of what started years ago。 To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she refuses to believe she will ever become; The Harbinger of Death and Destruction。 With the aide of her Number 2, Kieren。 Poppy and Reaver the Drakon the mission commences。 Huge events occur that change the game board。 Now, the wait for the next one begins。 。。。more

I received this free eARC novel from the author。 This is my honest review。 This is a very highly anticipated book, and I can 100% say, it does not disappoint at all! I got goosebumps, so many times when something was revealed and it clicked into my head。 I laughed, I cried, I squealed with joy, my jaw dropped in shock。 You will feel everything throughout this journey, I promise。 And there is a lot of information we get in this book。 I feel the need to reread already because I just know there are things I missed because I was speeding through everything, trying to absorb as much as I could as quickly as I could。 This book will answer a lot of questions, but also leave you with new questions for the future books。 I'm so happy I got the chance to read this story! JLA has been my auto buy, favorite author for 10 years and I have multiple formats of all of her books, so to be able to add this book to my collection makes me all warm inside。 Enjoy the ride! 。。。more

The War of Two Queens was the definition of epicness! This book was an absolute rollarcoaster。 Our characters go through a lot of heavy shit but the pay off is perfection! My ✨✨hypotheses✨✨ going into book three, using this as a reference for my theories as I read😍 Contrast, Compare, Analyze- SO EXCITED - Poppy’s father is Ires not Malec, panthers lot wildcats heavily used to signify Nyktos and his consort Seraphena。 I think this Isbeth crazy b*tch has held Ires captive as a panther the whole time。 Remember Poppy ALWAYS ALWAYS compares Cas to a “caged panther” at the Queens。 And when they met her end of book 3, they walked by him when they were sneaking in。- Is Is My ✨✨hypotheses✨✨ going into book three, using this as a reference for my theories as I read😍 Contrast, Compare, Analyze- SO EXCITED - Poppy’s father is Ires not Malec, panthers lot wildcats heavily used to signify Nyktos and his consort Seraphena。 I think this Isbeth crazy b*tch has held Ires captive as a panther the whole time。 Remember Poppy ALWAYS ALWAYS compares Cas to a “caged panther” at the Queens。 And when they met her end of book 3, they walked by him when they were sneaking in。- Is Isbeth keeping Malec’s brother captive so he’ll come back, or does she not care about either and just wants a super baby like Poppy????- The comparison to Cas as a caged panther also curious, there’s not way Jennifer would make Poppy a god and leave Cas without an immortal lifespan。 We know he’s not Theon, BUT I wonder if this man will be related to him in some degree not biologically but somehow。 Could see her killing cas as a cliffhanger and having him a “chosen” ascended。 - Malik, i think that he’s probs a good guy and there’s going to be some reconciliation there, malik breaks out cas or helps poppy。 Like an inside man。- Will Nyktos and Seraphena make an appearance together in this series, i thinks it’s possible bc we met Seraphena in her own book。 Like a dad uncle grandparents super god reunion。- Also will the gods wake up, maybe not this book but some point in time during the big showdown??? - Why would Isbeth pick Penellaphe as the god she names poppy after, we met the goddess in Seraphenas book, what is her relevance to Isbeth?? She seems impartial, gods go to sleep because of civil war?? Could be reaching。- Reaver! We met him too in the spin-off, could see him shifting and being a dad personality as some point, he seems protective over poppy。 Reaver=kieran in spin-off。 - Could see Ires and Malec showing up to take crazy momma Isbeth tf out in this book for sure, specifically Ires think they may free him if/when they free Cas。- I wanna see Cas family showdown when he talks to his mom and she knew who Ileana really was。- BIG KAHUNA。 Ascension。 Chosen。 What does it really mean???? There was talk of ascension but being done by “chosen” mortals in the spin-off, Seraphena is mortal but becomes ascended??? to be Nyktos consort。 In the preview for this book first three chapters, Isbeth mentions she’s not a “chosen” ascended。 Cannot wait to see this broken down。 What did ascension mean back in Seraphenas time and what does it mean now and how does Isbeth manipulate it??? 。。。more

Holy plot twist, Batman! Just when I was puzzling things together, BAM! Jen would throw a plot twist in there and shock the heck out of me! This read was phenomenal and chock full of action, angst, heartache, and love! I repeat Casteel has a POV finally and it is wicked good ;)CHARACTERS & PLOT-TWOTQ is intense from the very beginning with LOTS and LOTS of prophesied revelations (you might want to take notes really) some of them you probably guessed but will still make your eyes go wide, it is also emotional as our beloved characters go through hell and beyond。 I absolutely loved Poppy's transition as she slips into her new role like a second skin, no more self doubt or diffidence she is as ready as she can be for the war! I loved her Primal Notam relationship with her Wolven and with Drakens(not notum but you get it)。 The stars of the book are characters, it is no longer just the trio but Delano, Vonetta, Emil,Naill and some more I won't reveal, I was quite intrigued with Malik and Reaver's(read:Reaver butt) characters equally as they are no less sarcastic/arrogant than Cas which was quite entertaining ;) I was on the edge the whole time because I was panicking hard thats something would happen to these charactersKieran's role definitely reaches next level with TWOTQ, I felt like his character is fully fleshed up to become a full fledged main lead,I loved the bromance between him/Cas and him/Reaver ;) and what about antagonists you ask? Boy! how I clenched my teeth every time I had the intense urge to choke Isabeth(read:Isab*tch per Cas) and Callum is no joke。 Isabeth is dark, twisted and plays with all your emotions with a huge smile on her face and I really enjoyed the final face off between the two queens, it was every bit PHENOMENAL Brace yourself my Queen ;)WHAT I STRUGGLED WITH-While I really appreciated all the revelations and the answers I got from the book(again take notes and thank me later)it still wasn't a 5star read for me, for all the answers you get there are more questions that pop up which left me frustrated。 Most of the high's you get from the book are exclusive to last 15%, some of the plot points felt too rushed and too convenient for my liking, while it is packed with action it somehow felt slow paced compared to her previous books even without the info dumping。I also thought the focus on the actual "war" part was way less than what I anticipated BUT still that ending gave me goosebumps, I also appreciated the fact that it did NOT end on a cliffhangerPS- What's up with Tawny? someone explain it to meActual rating-3。75Favorite quote- “Whether she ruled over all the lands and seas or was the Queen of nothing but a pile of ashes and bones she would - will - always be my Queen。 Love is too weak an emotion to describe how she consumes me and what I feel for her。 She is my everything。” Summary of what to expect--Dual POV-LOTS of revelations & more questions-A complicated Prophecy which is the driving force of the book-New characters to fall in love with & some you want to choke-Some gut wrenching and some heartwarming moments-Amusing bromance and of course spice ;)-Intense climax WITHOUT a cliffhanger-Dracarys baby!TW- death, blood and gore, death of children, mutilation(mild) and more death。。 。。。more

My feelings towards this book are complicated。 Parts of this story I really loved such as the bond that gets even stronger between Poppy and Kieran while trying to rescue Casteel。 There’s also some really juicy info that’s finally revealed to us。 However, I still think the individual books in this series are far too long。 I think that JLA focuses a little too much on details when I’d rather just move things along since there’s so much ground to cover。 And in true JLA fashion, the last 20% of thi My feelings towards this book are complicated。 Parts of this story I really loved such as the bond that gets even stronger between Poppy and Kieran while trying to rescue Casteel。 There’s also some really juicy info that’s finally revealed to us。 However, I still think the individual books in this series are far too long。 I think that JLA focuses a little too much on details when I’d rather just move things along since there’s so much ground to cover。 And in true JLA fashion, the last 20% of this book will give you whiplash。 Thank you Brilliance Audio for providing a review copy。 This did not influence my review。 All opinions are my own。 。。。more

🐉 🌙 I have to preface this with my words are very lacking to the book I have just read。 No matter what I say it will not do it justice, but here’s a glimpse。 🐉 🌙 I will be honest and have to say I was a little prideful going into this book thinking I’ve read all of Jennifer’s books and I was ready to tackle it。 I will also be the first to admit, I was wrong! This is why she is the Queen! There is so much that comes together from the other books in the From Blood and Ash series AND Shadow in the Embers series。 It was shock and awe, followed by aftershocks that continued until the end of the book。 This is writing。 The characters you thought you loved, are beloved beyond words now。 Poppy and Cas, including the other supporting characters we know are so well developed in this book on a whole other level! You will meet new one and may have a new favorite! You will feel all the emotions, and just when you think it’s safe, you’re not, you really aren’t! It will steal your breathe days after finishing it。 Incredibly amazing。 🐉 🌙 I may have said this before but I sincerely believe this is one, if not my favorite book in the FBAA series。 Jennifer Armentrout continues to give it her ALL。 Guys… you want to read the this book。 🐉 🌙 I Note: If you haven’t read A Shadow in the Embers, I highly recommend you do! 。。。more

If you have read the previous volume you know that Casteel is a prisoner and that Poppy will do everything in her power to free him。 I liked this book but the first part goes on for a long time which is not always justified, there are repetitions but I liked the connection between Poppy and Kieran。 I found this relationship to be borderline better in my eyes than Poppy and Casteel's。 This volume is full of action and discovery, Poppy grows up and becomes a queen and with that she discovers that If you have read the previous volume you know that Casteel is a prisoner and that Poppy will do everything in her power to free him。 I liked this book but the first part goes on for a long time which is not always justified, there are repetitions but I liked the connection between Poppy and Kieran。 I found this relationship to be borderline better in my eyes than Poppy and Casteel's。 This volume is full of action and discovery, Poppy grows up and becomes a queen and with that she discovers that she has a people to protect and not just Casteel。 However she does it anyway。 I have to tell you that my favorite characters are Kieran and Reaver, I love them, I love their dialogues and their interactions。 The story is interesting, the fact that Poppy goes to save Casteel in the heart of danger is thrilling。 The characters are well written, I can't wait to read the next volume even if I admit that it will be less long, or at least with less repetition of the previous volumes。 。。。more
